In the statement of the Catania branch of the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), it was stated that there was a strong lava flow from the crater in the southeast of Etna and the ashes spewed by the volcano reached a height of approximately 4,500 meters.
WARNING FOR AIRPLANES
In the news in the Italian press, it was noted that the lava flow in Etna could be seen from kilometers away and that a red code warning was issued for planes passing through the region due to the volcanic activity in the volcano.
It was reported that many streets and vehicles were covered with ashes in settlements around the volcano, such as Zafferana, due to the ashes emitted by Etna.
