The Lions striker is spending his first Father’s Day at work – at least one change the new father noticed right away

The first child of Sebastian Revo and his spouse was born on the last day of October. The child changed the hockey player’s priorities in one fell swoop, but the call to the national team coincidentally brought more hours of sleep.

Father’s Day is celebrated on Sunday. For some fathers, it’s already many days of celebration, for others it’s just the first.

Rauman Luko’s forward who is part of the Finnish men’s national ice hockey team in the EHT tournament in Tampere Sebastian Repo will spend Sunday specifically for the first time. His first child was born on October 31.

– It’s certainly the best thing in my life, Repo answers when he is asked what new fatherhood means to him.

As many times before, the Lions’ first Euro Hockey Tour tournament of the season falls on Father’s Day weekend. Repo spends his first Father’s Day at work. Finland will meet Sweden in the “Father’s Day Classic” on Sunday.

– Let’s see how we can celebrate it after the tournament. It’s nice to get back to everyday life after this national team break when the time comes, says Repo.

It is still difficult to grasp all the changes in life brought by a child. Revo’s and his partner’s everyday life will change a lot, but according to Lahtelaiskasvati, above all for the better.

– Maybe it’s still hard to even grasp everything completely. The last week or so has been sweet, here we are just learning about all the new everyday life and life. A new page has started in our family’s story, we are happy about it, he describes.

The national team tournament guaranteed better dreams

The opportunity to take part in the birth event made Revo grateful.

– Luckily, I was able to join. It was great that I was able to support my spouse.

It is a little more difficult for the 27-year-old hockey player to describe what it felt like to be involved in the birth.

– At least you can say that I got there easier. You can’t do more than you can in that situation, so maybe you feel a little helpless. Of course, try to do what you can at the time, he reflects.

As Repo himself describes, everyday life changes with a child, but at the same time, the order of importance in life also changes in many ways. He has noticed its effect immediately.

– Yes, the priorities will change immediately. That little boy now comes first. People hustle and bustle around him, and according to him, all of our everyday lives will be built in the future. Certainly many new things and changes will come up, but I am looking forward to what is to come.

Even if priorities change, the work continues. For a professional athlete, sleep is very important, but with a newborn, sleep hours are guaranteed to decrease. In this case, the national team invitation has been to Revo’s advantage in terms of sleeping.

– Of course, I’ve slept very well here, while at the cottage it’s worse. Compared to my spouse, however, I have slept much better, so it doesn’t help much to complain, the biggest thanks go to him. He has run our everyday life well, Repo says with a smile.
