It was at the end of October that the woman traveled down to Istanbul in Turkey. There, she underwent cosmetic surgery at a private clinic.
After the operation, she would actually have remained in the hospital for two days. But after just one day, she was discharged, according to the report The Express. Shortly afterwards, the woman, who is in her 30s, was found dead.
The cause of death is not known. The Foreign Ministry confirms to Expressen that a Swedish woman has died in Turkey, but does not comment on the matter further.
In recent years, the number of people who go to, for example, Turkey to have plastic surgery has increased. In 2020, a Swedish woman in her 40s died after cosmetic surgery in Istanbul, according to the newspaper.
