In Utrecht the municipality is in charge, or rather the city council is in charge. But in a small neighborhood in the far east of the city they think differently. De Uithof is a well-known name in Utrecht. The University District started a quiet transformation about ten years ago. The Uithof will become Utrecht Science Park, a name that gives the district much more international shine, or so the idea is. Everything was settled in 2012, without the competent authority, the Utrecht city council, having anything to say about it at that time. Is that possible? It raises the question, who is actually in charge at De Uithof, or should we say at the Utrecht Science Park?
