Leo Carlsson’s complete smash hit tonight – slams his very first hat trick and makes NHL history

Anaheim’s Leo Carlsson continues to convince in NHL hockey and is now also historic. Three goals against Philadelphia means he is the youngest Swede ever to score a hat trick.

Leo Carlson who turns 19 at the end of December is thus not only the youngest Swede, but also the club Anaheim’s youngest player ever to score a hat trick in an NHL game. However, the three goals were not enough for victory, but the away team Philadelphia eventually won 6–3. The closest Anaheim got was a 3-5 deficit after Carlsson’s goal in the numerical advantage in the third period before Philadelphia could decide for sure when Anaheim took out the goaltender.

Nylander’s success

William Nylander while continuing to collect points. In the clash of the night, the Swede scored two goals and an assist as his Toronto beat Calgary 5-4 on penalties.

The in-form 27-year-old was also the one who started the scoring when he received a puck in a numerical advantage three minutes into the first period. In the middle act, the home team pulled away further thanks to a goal from Nylander – with one less man on the ice – and one from John Tavares with an assist signed Nylander. After a scoreless overtime, Toronto won on penalties 5–4.

Fifth in the points league

With tonight’s score, Nylander has scored 21 points in 14 games and is now fifth in the scoring league, which is topped by Vancouver’s Elias Pettersson.

Another Swede who netted during the night was Joel Eriksson Oakwho scored Minnesota’s final goal in the team’s 3–2 loss to Carolina.

Also Kevin Stenlund was noted for a complete hit as he sent in 5–2 for Florida in the open box, thus nailing the final score.
