A police officer in Gävle is charged with three cases of assault, Gefle Dagblad reports.
All events occurred at various locations in Gävleborg county in May this year.
On one occasion, the man is said to have hit the top of a person’s hands with a baton and grabbed one of the person’s arms, breaking it up towards the back. On another occasion, he is said to have pressed his knee against a person’s neck and back, while at the same time delivering several punches to the person’s neck and head.
The third suspected assault took place in connection with a control of a vehicle. The man then allegedly pulled one of the people out of the car and, among other things, kicked his leg away so that he ended up on his stomach on the ground.
In questioning, the man’s colleagues have stated that he has a history of being violent and that his actions in certain situations have been excessive.
The man, who is alternatively charged with misconduct, denies any crime.
