This 12 meter high Christmas tree is the most original

If you thought you had seen it all in terms of Christmas tree, this one should particularly impress you. To do this, head to London and St Pancras International station. Since November 1, 2023, a very original Christmas tree has been installed in the heart of the London station. It is also a tradition every year since the organizers never do half-measures and generally opt for a Christmas tree that is not traditional. This time again, they confirmed it by imagining, in collaboration with the oldest bookstore in the United Kingdom, Hatchard Books, which would also be the supplier to the royal court, a 12 meter high Christmas tree, equipped with a spiral staircase and decorated with more than 3,800 hand-painted books. All the works are Christmas titles. For example, you can find A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.

The experience could have stopped at this pretty decor, but the originality of this tree goes further. At the base of the Christmas tree, there are also eight small spaces for sitting and reading. Visitors can also listen for free for five minutes to an extract from an audio book, still on the theme of the holidays, from a wide choice of authors, which are provided exclusively by the publishing house Penguin Books.

With this project, the organizers’ desire was to put literature and reading at the forefront and for this what could be better than a spectacular Christmas tree. Wendy Spinks, Commercial Director of St. Pancras and HS1 Ltd, explained: “This year’s St. Pancras International Christmas Tree is an ode to the wealth of literature that transports us to exciting and new worlds. From real-life travel experiences to the fantastical lands of our imaginations, we hope visitors festive guests will feel the magic and be inspired to buy or give their loved ones the most timeless gift of all: books.” So if you’re planning to go to London soon, consider putting this tree on your bucket list!
