Just before seven o’clock on Tuesday evening, the alarm came about the accident where a truck had driven into a road barrier and caught fire on Stallbackabron in Trollhättan. In addition to the truck, two cars were also involved in the accident.
Driver deceased
The sequence of events is unclear. But initially a passenger car and the truck collided. Witnesses could see the truck hanging over the bridge.
The police are interviewing witnesses on Wednesday.
Now the police confirm that the driver of the truck has died.
Can be a foreign citizen
The police suspect that the driver is a foreign citizen and are therefore cooperating with foreign authorities in order to establish an identity and get in touch with relatives.
The bridge was closed in both directions and sea traffic under the bridge was also shut down in case something collapsed. On Wednesday morning, the bridge reopened to traffic.
