Paris SG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma was taunted with thrown banknotes

When Donnarumma left Milan for Paris SG in 2021 without the Milan club receiving any compensation for the transfer, he was called “Dollarrumma”. Today he was back for the first time at his old home arena and the reception was anything but cordial.

When Rafael Leão equalized at 1-1 for Milan with a bicycle kick, there were fake dollar bills with Donnarumma’s face on them in the penalty area.

When Olivier Giroud distinctively headed in 2-1 at the start of the second half, the bills were cleared.

– The more players that are available, the better for us. The team worked well together and deserved the win. Now we have to perform well against Dortmund and overtake them, says Milan coach Stefano Pioli to BeIN Sport about the team’s effort.

Also threw bills in the second match

PSG had a clear chance to equalize in the closing minutes but Lee Kang-in hit the outside of the post.

It was Milan’s first win in the CL this autumn after two draws and a loss and the hope of reaching the playoffs is alive.

Dortmund top Group F after 2-0 at Newcastle without the injured Alexander Isak. In this match too, fake money was thrown in as a protest against Uefa wanting to change the format with more teams and more matches. The fans protested against what they perceive as a greedy Uefa that only cares about money.
