Destiny 2’s weekly server down takes place today. As a result, Guardians will have to temporarily rest their weapons and will not be able to travel through the Destiny universe for a while. MeinMMO will inform you about the exact time and duration.
19:30 o’clock: The systems have now returned to normal. The clan function is also available again. So you should now be able to start the new week.
6:55 p.m.: The patch notes have been published. We will link them to you further down in the article. With the update, Bungie has ensured that you can no longer stop time in Destiny 2.
6:50 p.m.: Bungie is now officially reporting that crashes occur when starting Destiny 2 via the Steam beta client. If you experience this problem, we recommend that you log out of the Steam beta by clicking on “Steam” > “Settings” > “Interface” > “Client beta participation” > “No beta selected” in the Steam client .
6:30 p.m.: A login is still possible. However, we are receiving reports from players that they are not getting far. With the error codes PLUM or WEASEL you will be kicked out of the game very quickly. Or a BattlEye error occurs. There is no update from Bungie yet. We will keep you up to date.
6:00 p.m.: The update is here. On the PC the download is 102.7 MB. Logging into the game already works – but there are still BattlEye errors.
3:20 p.m.: Bungie has just shut down the Destiny 1 and 2 servers. The maintenance work can now begin. You can find out how long they should last further down in the article.
This is what you need to know today: Bungie will be cleaning up the tower with today’s server down, as the free event Festival of the Lost ends with the weekly reset. So the Halloween decorations come away and put an end to the never-ending flow of candy.
There are also necessary bug fixes and balance adjustments to ensure that the shooter is not overwhelmed by errors. So today’s update 7.2.5.3 is expected to bring some changes to improve the gaming experience in Destiny 2.
So that you can optimally prepare for the planned update 7.2.5.3 and the server down on November 7th, 2023, we have compiled all the relevant information in this article.
For some players, after the crisis at Destiny 2 and Bungie, it is already clear that they will no longer play this DLC, which means that Cayde-6 will probably have to save the universe alone:
Maintenance on November 7th – All times for server down
These times are important today: Bungie informs its players about the planned downtimes via Twitter/X. MeinMMO will inform you about the exact timing of these downtimes in Germany.
This is the exact maintenance schedule:
In addition, maintenance queues can sometimes form when logging in because Bungie only releases access to the servers gradually in order to avoid problems caused by excessive server load. You may therefore have to wait longer until you are back in the game.
Also keep in mind that third-party applications and the official Companion app may also not be accessible properly for a while, meaning you won’t be able to use them.
That changes with Update 7.2.5.3 in Season 22
This will be included in Update 7.2.5.3: Bungie has a publicly available to-do list of things that are currently not working properly in the game. This is actively influenced by Destiny 2 players by reporting bugs on the Bungie forums.
The following bugs are currently on this list:
This is not a comprehensive list of all known issues, but rather a targeted list of specific sources of error. If there are any further defects within the game, it would be helpful if you would share them in our comments section.
Patch notes for update 7.2.5.3 in Destiny 2
What’s in the patch notes? Bungie publishes the list of all changes for update 7.2.5.3 in the form of patch notes. However, a full overview of all fixed issues and improvements will not be posted online until this evening.
As soon as these are published, we will update our article for you and link to the patch notes, as something can still change or be corrected afterwards.
What else is important? Maintenance periods are unfortunately an inevitable part of a live service game like Destiny 2, as they form the basis for a smooth and enjoyable gaming experience.
So while they may temporarily restrict access to the game, they are a necessary step to ensure that bugs do not remain in the game and that you can play as usual and without too much disruption.
Please keep an eye on this article to stay up to date on how the maintenance work is progressing and to receive early notification of possible delays.
While Bungie is working on Destiny 2, the community is discussing whether Destiny 3 wouldn’t be a better solution: Players believe Destiny 3 has always been the answer to the crisis because Destiny 2 is “bloated and lacking in content.”
