A 22-year-old man fired about ten shots at a villa in Örebro on National Day. There were three people inside the house. Now the man is sentenced to life in prison for two attempted murders, aggravated weapons offences, drug offenses and violations of the Knife Act, writes Nerikes Allehanda.
The incident is linked to gang crime.
“I admit the deed and the only reason I was there was to murder NN,” said the 22-year-old in early interrogations, according to NA, to later state in court that he just wanted to be scared.
The target was in the house with his parents. The 22-year-old is acquitted of attempted murder of the father, as he was not in immediate danger according to the district court.
The fact that neither the son nor the mother was hit and killed was, on the other hand, pure luck, Örebro District Court reasoned in the judgment.
“According to the district court’s opinion, the total punitive value of the acts is such that a prison sentence other than life imprisonment should not be considered,” writes the court.
