New MMORPG starts beta on Steam in November, impresses with action-packed gameplay

Perfect New World has released a new gameplay trailer. It shows action-packed fights that make a surprisingly good impression. Things looked completely different in May. The developers also revealed what new features the upcoming beta in November will bring.

What kind of trailer is this? In just under four minutes the focus is clearly on the fights:

  • The new Dragonspear class is shown in the first 40 seconds. She fights with a large spear and can use it to throw opponents into the air or swing around them.
  • This is followed by the three other classes Berserker, Galeblade and Mysticsword. Here you can always see large and expansive effects as well as many powerful blows.
  • At the end there is a fast ride in a freight cart and a little PvP.

    • The game uses tab targeting, so you only have to target enemies once and then always hit them with your skills. But the animations and the choreography of the skills make a very fluid and action-packed impression.

    Only the small FPS drops and the somewhat empty game world spoil the otherwise very entertaining trailer. You can watch it here:

    The first beta wasn’t convincing, but now everything should be better

    What kind of beta is this exactly? The new test will take place directly on Steam and begins on November 14th at 4:00 p.m. German time. To participate, all you have to do is register on the official website and fill out a questionnaire. In this questionnaire, the developers want to know which platforms and hardware you have and which MMORPGs you like to play most.

    You can also spin a wheel of fortune once a day to increase your chances or even gain direct access.

    Registration for the beta ends on November 8th at 5:59 a.m. German time.

    What do we know about the beta? The beta brings some new features, including the Dragonspear class, three new areas and mounts. New and revised dungeons will also be shown and the first PvP content will be released.

    This is a type of battle royale in which players have to collect ghost cores. To get these, you have to either kill heavy PvE bosses or other players.

    How did it go in the last beta? The test in May was not well received. There was criticism for a lack of diversity in classes, pixelated graphics, a boring combat system, menus that were reminiscent of a mobile game, and numerous bugs and performance problems.

    However, the developers promised 12 major changes, including new classes and areas as well as adjustments to the combat system. They have already implemented some of it, as the trailer shows.

    When does the game come out? There is no concrete statement on this yet. However, a release is not expected until the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025 at the earliest.
