Eurex, October volumes up 16% driven by shares and rates

(Finance) – Eurexthe leading derivatives exchange in Europe and part of the group Deutsche Boerserecorded a 16% increase in total contracts traded to 161.2 million a October 2023, compared to 139.4 million in the same month last year. In October the turnover of equity derivatives increased by 43% compared to the previous year, going from 15.6 million contracts to 22.4 million. THE interest rate derivatives they increased by 22%, from 53.2 to 64.9 million contracts traded in October. On an annual basis, the turnover of index derivatives increased by 4%.

In the sector of OTC clearing, notional volumes in circulation increased by 15% in October year-on-year, reaching €32,497 billion compared to €28,379 billion in October last year. As a result, notional volumes outstanding in interest rate swaps increased by 7% to €13,955 billion and notional volumes outstanding in overnight index swaps increased by 25% to €2,974 billion.
