Ignored MW3, but one mode is sure to keep me entertained for months

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is supposed to continue the torch of MW2 and although the story is supposed to be great, our author Christos wouldn’t have touched the game if it weren’t for an upcoming mode that could provide excitement.

What mode is it about? The upcoming mode in MW3 is called MWZ. It’s a mix of DMZ and zombies. So you are thrown onto a large map solo or in a group, you can then complete tasks and then try to escape from the map with your loot.

The interesting thing about the mode, however, are the zombies that are now spreading across the map. Anyone who has celebrated the zombie maps in the various CoD Treyarch games could have fun with MWZ.

Zombies and bosses on an open map? Count me in!

MWZ will soon provide variety: I’ve been a fan of the CoD zombie franchise for years. Even in Black Ops 1 with Kino der Toten I always tried to break my record, even if the atmosphere was still scary at the time.

Since CoD hasn’t released anything new in terms of zombie modes for a while, I’m even more pleased to finally be able to compete against hordes of zombies and even bosses again in MWZ.

The mode is also intended to make the slaughter of the undead even more worthwhile by connecting to the DMZ. So you can land on the large map and complete tasks there with your friends, but if you come across the zombies, you have to defend yourself.

It’s still unclear if you’ll be able to find weapons on the ground and in bags just like in DMZ, but you can definitely set some weapons before you land. If you don’t have enough firepower, simply use the infamous Pack-A-Punch, a machine that not only visually and acoustically adjusts your weapon, but also increases damage.

You need that, because as you can see in the trailer, there are not only normal zombies, but also the well-known hellhounds, juggernauts, two big bosses and other monsters that you can’t defeat so easily.

There are also the well-known perk colas, which are intended to buff you and ensure your survival even further, and new and well-known miracle weapons from the franchise. The Mysterious Box has also made it into MWZ and, if there are enough points, provides you with weapons and items.

Above all, it is the change from the familiar DMZ to the zombie setting that creates tension for me. DMZ felt exciting to me at release, but the mindless enemies I encountered dampened my enjoyment.

With the zombies, however, I don’t compete against shooting enemies, but rather monsters that constantly appear and try to suffocate me in their greed for flesh. So they’re welcome to be brainless as long as they run after me and cause panic.

Will there be PvP in MWZ? At launch, the mode will start without PvP, but it is not known whether Activision could change that in the future. PvP can cause problems.

I’d rather see large groups of 4 or 8 players fighting a huge boss and sharing the loot, rather than trollers getting in the way just to ruin their fun, only to be attacked by zombies themselves to be torn to pieces. For my part, I’m looking forward to the release of MWZ, but I have to be satisfied with the campaign first.

Are you also looking forward to MWZ or are you more interested in the multiplayer mode? Let us know in the comments!
