In Mission: Impossible 7, elite agent Ethan Hunt (Cruise) becomes attacked by a ghost from his past (Esai Morales). For the first time in his career, the spy seems completely helpless, and even his crush Elsa (Rebecca Ferguson) is in great danger.

The film, directed by franchise veteran Christopher McQuarrie, cost a staggering $291 million (via Deadline). But he knew how to use his budget well.
