Three years ago, while the pandemic imposed a deafening silence on the world, the American trumpeter and singer, Boney Fields, hatched a project which today reveals itself to be majestic. His memories of a vibrant youth in Chicago suddenly resurfaced in his mind and gave rise to an album imbued with a very brassy musicality, rooted in “The Epic of Black Music”. Just Give Me Some Mo’ is the fruit of this scintillating introspection.
