Tim Burton has been making films for over 30 years, they are known for their eccentric characters and dark, deep goth stories. In 1988, one of his most popular works was released in the cinema: the horror comedy with a fantasy twist, Beetlejuice, which is now being shown on TV in time for Halloween. The long-awaited sequel with Wednesday star Jenna Ortega is set to start soon.

Then a new family moves in: Delia (Catherine O’Hara), Charles (Jeffrey Jones) and daughter Lydia (Winona Ryder). This is how the poltergeist story begins, as the Maitlands use every means possible to drive the unwanted family out of the house. The ghost Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton), who always appears when you say his name three times, is supposed to help.
When is the sequel with Jenna Ortega coming?
Beetlejuice 1 became a huge success and over the years became a cult classic among horror fans. But the announced sequel languished in development hell for 33 years. That changed in 2023 when Tim Burton won Wednesday star Jenna Ortega for the film. The duo had previously worked together in the Netflix series.
Last May, The Hollywood Reporter reported on the launch of Beetlejuice 2:
Tim Burton is directing again.
