Cliff Bleszinski states that the Gears series should make a return similar to the successful remake of God of War in 2018.
Cliff Bleszinski, known as the founder of the Gears of War series at Epic Games, thinks it is time to revive the series. According to Bleszinski, the Gears series should be redesigned like God of War, which had great success in 2018.
Producer of Gears of War Wants to Revive the Series
In an interview with ComicBook, Bleszinski said that the Gears series is still close to his heart and that Microsoft is always open to consulting on any Gears project. He also emphasized that his love for the Gears series continues and that it was a great honor for him to take part in this project.
Bleszinski appreciates the impact some of the dramatic scenes in Gears of War have on players. He particularly touched upon the reactions to Dom’s death scene and stated that the actors’ reactions to this scene were a source of great pride for him.
Microsoft purchased the Gears series from Epic in 2014 and assigned The Coalition team to continue this project. It is currently said that Gears 6 is under development.
On the other hand, Sony’s God of War games released in 2018 and 2022 successfully revived the series. After this success, it will not be a surprise if the series continues.
Finally, after parting ways with Epic Games, Bleszinski founded a studio called Boss Key. However, the studio ended its activities after the LawBreakers game did not receive the expected attention. Currently, Bleszinski is working on a comic book project called Scrapper.
