Snooker’s top professionals will arrive in Helsinki next spring. According to Urheilu’s information, it is an invitational tournament for eight players, which will be played on the 25th and 26th. May.
The tournament’s number one star is currently in top form on the professional tour Judd Trump, who won the Northern Ireland Open, which ended in Belfast on Sunday. The tournament victory was his third in a row.
The world’s top names can also be seen in Helsinki Luca Brecel (2.), Kyren Wilson (8.) Jack Lisowski (13th), Ryan Day (17.) and Stuart Bingham (21st). Brecel is the reigning snooker world champion, Bingham won the World Cup title in 2015.
In addition, legends of the sport will play in the tournament Stephen Hendry and Jimmy White. 54-year-old Hendry is a seven-time world champion and White is his fiercest rival. White, 61, reached the World Cup final six times in his career, but lost each time.
The prize pool of the Helsinki invitational tournament is 150,000 euros, i.e. the same size as, for example, the tennis ATP challenger tournament organized in November in Helsinki.
