Zdeno Chara had his shot measured at 175 km/h.
This shot?
So much harder.
Drag shots and nimble wrist shots in all their glory. The most powerful shot in hockey is, of course, a good old shot.
The professionals know that. All the fans know that and the kids who stand day in and day out on a shooting ramp know that and dust off…exactly that, impact shots.
Beats all previous records
It is no coincidence that it is precisely the shot put competition that attracts the most attention during the NHL’s All Star weekend. To see, for example, Zdeno Chara grab from his toes to pull the pulley at 175 km/h… it’s powerful! Thats how it is.
But Chara has to excuse herself. For the player in this clip, all previous records are broken. We can say that without having a speedometer available.
Damn what a blast!
And yes, it’s a commercial and the “authenticity” of the film… well, we can agree that even though the clip is several years old, it’s really cool!
