In Madagascar, General Richard Ravalomanana, recently elected president of the Senate, is the country’s new strongman. The High Constitutional Court announced yesterday, Friday October 27, that he became the interim president, as required by the Constitution during an electoral period. A decision which comes two weeks after the express dismissal of former Senate President Herimanana Razafimahefa.
