In the ice hockey championship league, we saw an exceptional and surprising goal in Mikkeli.
There were some interesting moments in the ice hockey league match between Jukurie and KalPa, when the American goalkeeper from Kuopio Stefanos Lekkas based on the statistics, scored a 1–0 goal for KalPa in the first period.
Jukurie’s konkar striker Jarkko Immonen was in the offensive zone when KalPa was getting iced. During the postponed penalty, Jukurien’s goalkeeper Markus Ruusu had skated to the substitution fence, when Immonen sent a hard pass to his own blue line at the offensive end, which went all the way to his own goal.

In Puhe’s hockey round, the situation that caused uncertainty was interpreted for a long time as the fact that Immonen’s “own goal” might not have been accepted because the jury considered that Jukurie’s forward Immos was under so much pressure in the situation that he was, as it were, “forced” to give up the puck.
Finally, with a long delay, KalPa’s 1–0 away goal appeared in the SM league statistics in 3:38. Since hockey does not know its own goal, the last player who touched the puck from KalPa was marked as the goal scorer, which was the goalie Lekkas who made the save.
Last season, on December 30, 2022, a somewhat similar goal was experienced in the league match between Ässie and TPS, when on Friday night in Pori, TPS Michael Dal Collen the pass slipped into the own goal from the central area also during the deferred penalty. The goal was scored by the Ässie goalkeeper who touched the puck last Niklas Rubin to names.
KalPan Mika Järvisten became the first goalie to score a goal in the history of the ice hockey SM league, when he lifted the puck into an empty goal against Lukko in 59:17 on the fourth day of December in 2008. The fourth goalie to score in the SM league is Lassi Lehtinenwho raced the puck into an empty goal in a Lukko jersey on December 1, 2018.
