War in Sudan: “A very small chance” that the negotiations will be more successful than the previous ones

Sudan renewed violence after a new withdrawal of the army

The war in Sudan began on April 15, 2023 between the army of General al-Burhan and the paramilitaries of General Hemedti. Since then, several negotiations have taken place in connection with this conflict which has left thousands dead, as well as more than 5.6 million displaced people and refugees. Discussions had already taken place in Jeddah, without success, last May and June, under the aegis in particular of the United States and Saudi Arabia. With their resumption, researcher Roland Marchal believes that, this time, they could be more promising.
