I would have booed for us myself Albertas NHL

St. Louis forward Kasperi Kapanen hit his opening hit of the season with underpower. Calgary has lost their last four games. It will next face its local opponent, the Edmonton Oilers, whose early season has been just as sticky.

The St. Louis Blues met the Calgary Flames in the night hockey NHL round. Calgary entered the match with a three-game losing streak, and this streak continued when St. Louis stole the points away from the team with a score of 3–0.

Finnish striker of St. Louis Kasperi Kapanen scored his opening goal of the season in the match underpowered. Kapanen, who ran away from the pass, received a perfect pass from the Swede from Oskar Sundqvist.

The 27-year-old Kapanen thanked and hit the puck irresistibly into the upper corner past the Calgary goalkeeper by Jacob Markström.

With the win, the Blues rose to seven points and are tied for seventh place in the Western Conference.

Kapase now has the power of 1+2=3 collected from six matches.

Pittsburgh’s 2014 first-round pick moved from Pittsburgh to the tight ends midway through last season. The player from Kuopio’s final season in the new team was successful in terms of point production. The Blues had a total of 14 power points in 23 matches at the end of last season.

Depressing early season

Served as the head coach of the Calgary Flames in recent seasons Darryl Sutter got fired in the spring after a miserable last season. Last season, the team missed the playoffs for the second time in three years.

Before last season, played a top season with the Florida Panthers (30+85=115 power points) Jonathan Huberdeau has told before in Canadian mediathat he didn’t get along well with Sutter, known as an old-school coach.

– Darryl and I didn’t click at all last season.

Huberdeau’s first season in Calgary did not go as expected either. In 79 matches, the Canadian scored a modest 55 power points.

– The arrival of a new coach will help my game and my self-confidence, Huberdeau said after the change of coach.

Sutter was replaced by a 48-year-old assistant coach Ryan Huskawho had no previous experience in the NHL head coaching field.

However, the new coach’s start in the flame jerseys has been even weaker than what was thought.

The Flames’ loss to St. Louis was the fourth in a row. The team has now lost six of their first eight matches of the season. The only wins have come from Winnipeg and Buffalo.

The team’s supporters had even booed their team after last night’s losing game, The Score tells.

– I want to apologize for this to our fans, we are playing absolutely crap at the moment, said the team’s defender Nikita Zadorov after the match.

– I would have cheered for us myself if I had been watching how we play, the Calgary forward Elias Lindholm in turn stated.

Equally difficult in the neighborhood

Calgary will have the next chance to break their losing streak against Finland on the night before Monday, when they face off in an outdoor match possibly without their superstar Connor McDavid playing local opponent Edmonton Oilers.

McDavid was sidelined last Saturday after suffering an upper body injury in the same day’s game against the San Jose Sharks. Edmonton’s coaching staff announced on Sunday that McDavid’s injury is a muscle injury and will keep him sidelined for a couple of weeks.

Edmonton head coach Jay Woodcroft said at last night’s post-match press conference that McDavid had been training on the ice for a couple of days. The superstar’s absence from Sunday’s game is not certain, but neither is his participation.

Edmonton has also lost four games in a row. In last night’s round, the Oilers lost to the New York Rangers 0-3 in their own match. The team from Manhattan took Alberta’s second NHL group in the match however they wanted, winning, among other things, the top goal positions in the match with a score of 14–8.

– I think that what our game looks like also corresponds to reality, the Oilers Zach Hyman commented to Sportsnet after the game.

– As a team, we haven’t played one of our best sets this season, let alone the whole match. No one has yet seen what we are capable of. It’s frustrating. “It’s up to everyone individually to bring their best game on Sunday,” Hyman continued, referring to the upcoming “Battle of Alberta.”

Jesperi Kotkaniemi in a great mood

From Pori Jesperi Kotkaniemi scored 1+1 in the match between Carolina and Seattle and thus led his team to a 3–2 home win.

Kotkaniemi has been efficient since the beginning of the season – in eight matches, a total of nine power points (4+5) have been created. The 23-year-old, who is playing in his third season in Carolina, is second in the Finns’ points market, right behind Colorado Mikko Rantanen after.

Sebastian Aho on the other hand, scored his team’s 3–2 winning goal in Seattle’s win.
