Google Maps has received several updates this year, and Google isn’t done yet. The company plans to add a number of new AI-powered features to the app. Earlier this year, Google introduced Full View for routes, a feature that allows users to preview their route before setting off. Google said it will use AI tools to bring together billions of Street Views and aerial images to provide a detailed turn-by-turn view of your route. The tool also includes a time slider that will provide information to help you plan your route, such as traffic simulation and weather conditions.
Google Maps received many important features
Originally called Search with Live View, ‘Lens in Maps’ is available for London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, San Francisco and Tokyo in November 2022. Now Google is expanding the feature to 50 new cities this week, including Austin, Las Vegas, Rome, Sao Paulo and Taipei. Lens in Maps is an AR feature that provides nearby information, such as nearby ATMs, public transit stations, and restaurants, when you pick up your phone.
Google says navigation maps will be available in more detail in the coming months. This means the user will see updated colours, more realistic buildings and improved lane details. Additionally, if you are in an area with high vehicle traffic, the app now notifies you.
