Following Israel’s targeting of civilians in the Gaza Strip and the increase in attacks on US bases in the Middle East, especially in Iraq and Syria, the US Department of Defense took another step.
US Department of Defense Spokesperson Brigadier General Patrick Ryder said in a statement that approximately 900 soldiers will be sent to the Middle East in order to “deter a broader conflict” and “strengthen the protection of US bases”.
“THEY WILL NOT GO TO ISRAEL”
Ryder, who did not give details about where the soldiers would be deployed, said, “I can confirm that they will not go to Israel.”
Ryder said that last week, bases in Iraq where US soldiers are located were targeted 12 times and in Syria 4 times.
