Newcastle star Sandro Tonali has been banned for ten months

Alexander Isak’s clubmate thus misses the rest of the season and also this summer’s EC playoffs. He is expected to return to football in August 2024.

Tonali was signed to the Premier League team from Italian Milan this summer for around SEK 800 million. He then became the most expensive Italian player in football history.

Betting on matches has been a problem in Italy’s national team. Juventus midfielder Nicolò Fagioli was banned for seven months for the same offense last week.

Aston Villa’s Nicolò Zaniolo is also under investigation. Tonali and Zaniolo were sent home from the latest Italian national team gathering.
