The prosecutor requested 20 years in prison with confiscation of his property against the former president. Prosecuted for illicit enrichment, abuse of power and money laundering, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz would have accumulated assets and capital of 67 million euros at the time of his indictment in March 2021.
