Man found dead in residence – police suspect murder

On Saturday morning, a 55-year-old man was found dead in a residence in Södertälje.
Now a man in his 30s has been arrested in the case, suspected of serious assault or causing the death of another, reports

The man was found by people he shared the home with.

Police, ambulance and rescue services are on site.

According to a witness, a person must have been led out of the residence wearing handcuffs.

– During questioning it emerged that there was a fight on Friday with assault, says police spokesperson Anna Westberg to the newspaper.

Forensic examination

The police have carried out a technical examination of the residence. A forensic examination of the man must also be carried out, to determine his cause of death.

– We have started a preliminary investigation into serious assault, alternatively causing the death of another, to find out if there is a connection. The man who was arrested is still in custody and under arrest, says Westberg The county newspaper.

It is unclear whether the arrested man is one of those who live at the address, according to LT.

The police see no connection to gang crime.
