2. CALL FROM ABDULLAH FOR INTERNATIONAL PRESSURE
On the other hand, King Abdullah II of Jordan also called for “international pressure on Israel to stop the war.”
According to the written statement made by the Kingdom Council, King Abdullah II received British General Staff Middle East and North Africa Advisor Joey Martin Sampson and UN World Food Program (WFP) Executive Director Cindy McCain during his meetings in the capital Amman.
The King of Jordan discussed the dangerous situation in the Gaza Strip during his meeting with Sampson. King Abdullah stated that the international community should “put pressure on Israel to stop the war in Gaza, protect civilians, end the blockade and ensure humanitarian aid reaches the region.” Jordan’s King also warned that attacks on Gaza “could cause outrage” for the situation in the region.
