Mosque bombed in the West Bank

Israel has shelled the Al-Ansar mosque in the West Bank city of Jenin, according to the Israeli military (IDF).
“The mosque has been used as a command center to plan and carry out terrorist attacks,” the IDF writes on X.

One Palestinian has been killed and three wounded in an airstrike against the Al-Ansar mosque in the West Bank city of Jenin. This is stated by the Red Cross in Palestine, according to Reuters.

The Israeli military announced that the people had been “neutralized” but gave no details on how many were killed or on their identities.

“The mosque has been used as a command center to plan and carry out terrorist attacks against civilians,” the IDF writes on its X account.

Pictures from the place that BBC has published shows extensive damage.

The Israeli Defense Forces have also shared images purported to show the entrance to a bunker under the mosque where the “command center” is said to have been located.

Escalating the attacks on Gaza

The attack comes at the same time as the Israeli military spokesman, Daniel Hagari, states that the country will step up its attacks on the Gaza Strip.

– We are increasing our attacks to minimize the danger to our forces in the next stage of the war. We will escalate the war from now on, Daniel Hagari answers a question about whether a ground invasion in Gaza is on the cards.

Since the statement, Israel has carried out at least two attacks against refugee camps in the West Bank, including an airstrike against the al-Ansar Mosque in Jenin in the West Bank.

In the more than two weeks that have passed since Hamas carried out its terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, thousands of people have lost their lives. Israel has carried out thousands of airstrikes against the Gaza Strip and scores of rockets have been fired at Israel.

At least 1,400 people in Israel are said to have been killed in the terrorist attack, of which the absolute majority were civilians. In the Gaza Strip, more than 4,300 Palestinians have been killed and tens of thousands injured in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian data. The figure has not been confirmed by an independent party.
