He defends himself and Twitch bans him

35-year-old Matthew “Dellor” Vaughn is an American YouTuber and Twitch streamer who is always in the public eye. Twitch has now banned him for publishing someone’s address. This is called “doxxing” and is generally frowned upon. But Dellor only seemed to want to defend himself. On Twitter he describes how stalkers have been making his life hell for 4 years.

Who is this?

  • Dellor has been quite successful showing gaming on Twitch and the streaming platform since 2013. He mainly streamed DayZ last year and was always considered a good player. Most recently he defeated C’Thun in WoW Hardcore (via YouTube). He is followed by 750,000 people on Twitch. When he streams, he has around 1080 viewers.
  • But Dellor is also considered to be terribly intemperate: he made a habit of furiously pulling the keyboard over his own skull and breaking it. That was his trademark. He said himself that he constantly destroys cheap keyboards in fits of rage.
  • In 2019, Twitch didn’t think it was so funny and permanently banned him from the streaming platform for “self-harm”. A year later he returned to Twitch via the detour of YouTube.
  • What was he banned for now? Dellor was banned from Twitch on October 16 for posting someone’s address.

Dellor says stalkers have been making his life a living hell for the past 4 years

How did that happen: Eight days before the ban, on October 8th, Dellor had already written on Twitter that someone had been stalking him for a long time: the person had come to his house more often and threatened him.

But the stalker has now made a mistake and so Dellor now has all of his personal information – license plate number, name, address, everything. He already threatened to publish the data back then.

Then on October 12th he wrote that he no longer felt safe in his house.

Stalkers throw eggs at his house – streamer can’t take it anymore

This is how things escalated: After his ban, Dellor justified himself on Twitter. He says the situation escalated before he made the personal information public:

  • He has been harassed and stalked for 4 years and has been swatted 3 times
  • People sneak around him and film him
  • Stalkers knocked on his door and windows hundreds of times; Ordered food to his house countless times that he hadn’t ordered.
  • Most recently, strangers threw eggs at his house, ruining a monitor and damaging his setup
  • Streamer says he knew it was wrong – but did what he did

That’s what he says about the ban: He says he did something stupid and he knew it was stupid the moment he did it. He had a really bad night.

Dellor apparently felt helpless; he reported all incidents to the police and the FBI, but received no help.

It’s not fair that I have to sit here and have my life ruined by people who have no sense of decency when I use every legal opportunity to fight back. This is America and I don’t feel comfortable in my house. That’s why I did what I did.

Some people are now calling for him to be unbanned on Twitch, but Dellor is currently still banned.
