“We are incredibly grateful to Enbridge Gas for their generous donation to the County of Brant Fire Department,” said fire chief Darren Watson. “Having these additional funds to purchase training materials can provide life-saving resources to our firefighters.”

The County of Brant Fire department has eight stations and about 195 volunteer firefighters throughout the county.

“Providing support to Ontario firefighters in emergency response training, we’re equipping the heroes of tomorrow to better protect the communities we live and work in, keeping them healthy and vibrant,” said Al Duesling, supervisor of field operations, southeast region at Enbridge Gas.

A total of 344 grants have been presented to fire departments across the province since the inception of Safe Community Project Assist in 2012.

“Fire departments train every single day and that’s why it’s important for them to have access to the right materials to keep their members and the public safe,” explained Jon Pegg, Ontario Fire Marshal, and chair of the FMPFSC. “Safe Community Project Assist helps departments afford some of these training tools and improves the ongoing learning that occurs.”
