Filip Forsberg’s senseless class goal last night – broke the huge goal drought in the most powerful way

Nashville’s scoring king Filip Forsberg scored his first goal in almost nine months as the New York Rangers were crushed 4-1 in the NHL tonight.
– It was a while ago, says Forsberg after the match.

Filip Forsberg, who missed 32 games last season with an upper body injury, had failed to score in the first four games this season.

But during the night of Friday, it came loose for Nashville’s long-time scoring king.

– There have clearly been chances, but I have played stable hockey, created chances and if you keep going, they usually come, says Forsberg after the match.

Forsberg brushed past four Rangers players and shot 4-0 after almost 14 minutes of play in the second period (see the goal at the bottom of the article). The last time Forsberg got the puck over the goal line was on January 26. He was also credited with an assist in the game.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Kevin Stenlund also got to celebrate, with their first goals for Florida in the night’s meeting against Toronto.

More Swedish language

First, Stenlund stepped forward and made it 1-0 just over 17 minutes into the first period. Teammate Ekman-Larsson then extended the lead with seven seconds remaining.

Toronto’s Mitchell Marner reduced with the help of, among others, William Nylander, who was noted for an assist. But Florida held on and won the meeting 3–1.

Los Angeles’ Carl Grundström scored the game’s first goal in the meeting with Minnesota. Joel Eriksson Ek reduced for Minnesota in the third period, played by teammate Marcus Johansson. But the joy drained out of the Minnesota Swedes when Adam Kempe added again for Los Angeles, who won the game 7–3.
