Action veteran Michael Mann’s Ferrari tells a tragic true story

Enzo Ferrari is completely in a fix: the ex-racing driver’s business is about to collapse, his double life with his wife Laura (Penélope Cruz) and his lover Lina (Shailene Woodley) turns his existence into a pile of rubble. Only first prize in the infamous Mille Miglia race seems to be able to save him.

Mann’s perspective on Enzo Ferrari also revolves around a true tragedy. There was one in the Italian Mille Miglia competition in 1957 serious accident in which 11 people lost their lives, when a car left the road at 250 km/h. Among the victims were five children and two racing drivers. The racy new trailers to Ferrari illuminates this tension between blind ambition and deadly risk metaphorically using breathtaking racing scenes.
