It was stated that travel to this country should be reconsidered due to terrorism, civil disobedience, armed conflicts, crime, abductions and the limited services provided by the US Embassy in Beirut to US citizens.

The statement also stated that due to the “unpredictable security situation” in Lebanon, the families of the personnel working at the country’s Embassy in Beirut and some non-emergency personnel were allowed to leave the country.

“WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THE SAFETY OF US CITIZENS”

Pointing out that “terrorist organizations’ attacks against Lebanon continue”, the statement noted that the Lebanese government cannot guarantee the security of US citizens.

The statement also reminded that there have been large-scale protests in the country recently due to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and stated that US citizens should stay away from places where there are protests.
