47 people have been confirmed dead after the boat accident that occurred on the Congo River in northwestern Congo-Kinshasa last week, according to the country’s transport minister Marc Ekila.
Initial reports said about 30 people died when the riverboat with about 200 passengers on board capsized.
According to Marc Ekila, the boat capsized because it was overloaded with both passengers and cargo.
