Brynäs has picked up a really heavy signing.
Jordie Benn joins with over 600 NHL games under his belt.
But now comes the big cut after the dream signing.
After the exit from the SHL last spring, Brynäs is now doing everything in its power to ensure that the time in the HockeyAllsvenskan will only be one year long. This weekend it became clear with new additions from the top shelf in the form of NHL meritorious players Jordie Benn.
Benn’s career
With twelve seasons in the world’s best hockey league and as many as 607 NHL games, the 36-year-old has a solid CV. Benn has represented clubs such as the Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks, Winnipeg Jets, Minnesota Wild and most recently the Toronto Maple Leafs.

But now the Canadian will play outside North America for the first time in his career. Brynäs has managed to get the dream signing thanks to the “Fan’s recruitment” initiative where supporters have collected money for the club.
Harsh criticism
Jordie Benn has signed a one-year contract and will come to Sweden with the goal of playing for Brynäs in the SHL. But he will have a real struggle if the experts who are now bringing out the big saw are to be believed.

Sanny Lindstrom is one of many who see problems with this signing.
– The pace, the big rink and the relatively hectic game that is in the hockey Allsvenskan will be a big adjustment. The positive thing for Jordie Benn is that he gets about thirty games to find his way before the playoffs start. It is in those types of matches that he will be able to participate and contribute to a greater extent. I think that initially he will have quite big problems, he says to SportExpressen.

The colleague Johan “Mr. Madhawk” Svensson is then even harsher in his criticism.
– At that age, coming in without experience from playing in Europe, and to a second league where it goes terribly fast. So it just screams flop about it. I’d be lying if I said otherwise. At the same time, I get a good feeling that he has a relationship with Greg Scott from before when they played together. Greg doesn’t throw any crap at Brynäs, and it still speaks for me to put somewhere in the intermediate milk here, to begin with, he says to the evening newspaper.
