Chatham firefighters were called to a house fire on St. George Street, near the corner of Park Avenue East, Wednesday night.
No details on the potential cause or injuries were immediately available Wednesday night as fire crews continued to put out hot spots.
The fire occurred where Manny da Silva, 35, of Chatham, suffered serious injuries after being involved in an altercation in front of the home last June. He later died in hospital. Kyle Samko is currently facing a first-degree murder charge for allegedly killing da Silva.
A neighbor told The Chatham Daily News when he first saw the smoke and fire he thought it was coming from the nearby Meritor Suspensions System Co. plant.
“It was bad,” said the man. “Smoke was coming out like crazy.”
He added, “I just hope nobody was in there and got hurt.”
This is the third house fire in the last three days in Chatham-Kent.

Chatham firefighters were called to a home on Inshes Avenue on Monday afternoon. Neighbors told The Daily News on Monday that Chatham-Kent police are frequently called to the home.
Few details have been provided about this blaze, which is now a police investigation.
Full-time and volunteer firefighters from Wallaceburg Station No. 3, along with a crew from Station No. 2 Chatham, responded to a blaze at a Bruce Street home just after midnight on Tuesday.
The fire, which caused $200,000 damage, has been ruled accidental.
Fire officials said working smoke alarms alerted those in the home to get out safely.
There were no injuries reported.
