Israel’s ground offensive against the Gaza Strip awaits only the green light.
Meanwhile, the area is shelled daily and over 2,000 people have died.
Hundreds of them must be children.
Israel’s threat of a ground offensive against the Gaza Strip is firm and at the moment the military is only waiting for a green light from the political leadership. In the meantime, there is daily shelling of Gaza, where two million people live close to each other in a very small area.
According to the Minister of Health in the Gaza Strip and several other media outlets, over 2,700 people have died in the attacks, and of those, 724 are children. Close to 9,000 people have also been injured in the shelling, of which 2,450 are children.
The hospitals will soon be out of order
Meanwhile, fuel for back-up generators in Gaza hospitals is about to run out, according to the UN humanitarian office in Ocha.
“Shutting down backup generators would put the lives of thousands of patients at risk,” Ocha wrote in a situation update yesterday.
This is also information that the head of the Palestinian Ministry of Energy confirms to Al Jazeera. The manager states that the hospitals will not be able to provide care without fuel.
