Great victory again for the handball ladies

It must be said that the opposition was not the best, the Faroe Islands on Thursday (37–20) and Luxembourg (39–17) on Sunday.

Sweden initially had some problems away in Luxembourg and the home team was able to keep pace with Sweden in the first quarter. Then Sweden pulled away and in the last ten minutes of the first half the home team did not score a single goal.

Sweden went to the halftime break with 15–7. In the second half, the lead was extended and at the end of the match, Sweden scored seven straight goals.

Wing players Nathalie Hagman and Elin Hansson accounted for the most goals, seven each, together with left-nin Tyra Axnér – also a seven-goal scorer.

The remaining matches in the European Championship qualifiers, where Iceland is also included in Sweden’s group, will be played this spring. The European Championships will be held in Austria, Hungary and Switzerland next autumn.
