Legendary sci-fi trash that stole from Star Wars and destroyed the career of a Tarantino star

The SchleFaz series shows films in which things are often completely insane in front of and behind the camera. Cult director Roger Corman shot many of them and today his sci-fi trash Death Rally in Helix City is getting the SchleFaz treatment. You can see Tarantino star David Carradine (Kill Bill), among others, who fell into a career hole after the film. Star Wars fans will also recognize sounds in the film that are apparently the action hit brazenly stole from the recently released blockbuster.

Death Rally in Helix City, also known as Deathsport, Death Race 2050 or Giants with Fists of Steel, is set in a Mad Max-esque dystopian desert. To maintain peace there, offenses are punished with the deathsport penalty: The outlaws compete against their opponents in a murderous motorcycle chase. The warriors Oshay (Carradine) and Deneer (Claudia Jennings) must win their freedom through competition.
