Nadia El-Nakla’s parents, Elizabeth El-Nakla and Maged El-Nakla, who live in Dundee, Scotland, went to Gaza last week to visit their father of four sons and Maged’s sick 92-year-old mother.
Speaking to the BBC from her official residence in Edinburgh, Nadia El-Nakla talked about the experiences of her parents who were stranded in Gaza.
“HE SAYS THERE IS CONSTANT BOMBARDING FROM LAND, SEA AND AIR”
The First Lady of Scotland stated that her mother told her that there was constant bombardment from land, sea and air. She added that her mother had not slept since Monday.
A 40-second video clip, reportedly taken by the mother of the Scottish First Lady from the city of Deir el-Belah and shared with the BBC, attracted attention.
According to the news, mother El-Nakla explained the plight of the family in the video in question and said the following in tears:
“I WANT THE WORLD TO HELP THE PALESTINES”
“We don’t have electricity. We don’t have water. The little food we have will not last long and will spoil because there is no electricity. I have four grandchildren in this house. I want the world to help the Palestinians.”

Nadia El-Nakla, who is also concerned about the impact of the incident on her brother’s young children, especially her eight-week-old nephew, said: “I’m afraid that his little heart will not be able to withstand this constant bombardment.” he said.
CALL FROM SCOTLAND’S PRIME MINISTER YUSUF TO “CREATE A HUMANITARIAN AID CORRIDOR TO GAZA”
On the other hand, Scottish Regional Prime Minister Hamza Yusuf recently wrote a letter to British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly, requesting that he call for the creation of a humanitarian aid corridor that will allow the evacuation of civilians in Gaza.
Scottish Regional Prime Minister Yusuf stated the following in his letter:
“As a close friend and ally of Israel, I ask the British government to call on the Israeli government to ensure the protection of innocent civilians and to declare an immediate ceasefire to allow the safe passage of civilians through the Rafah Border Crossing. I also ask that those who are trapped, helpless and “A humanitarian aid corridor should be opened to Gaza to deliver needs such as food, fuel, water and medical supplies to civilians who cannot go out.”
