Albania and Scotland create a sensation in the European football qualifiers – only Erling Haaland has managed to break the strong wall

Albania and Scotland create a sensation in the European football

Along with the cheerleaders, in the European football qualifiers, eyes are fixed on Scotland, which dominates the A group, on Sweden, which is struggling in the qualifiers, and on the flat E group.

The European Championship qualifiers continue this week. We gathered the most interesting situations from outside the Huuhkajie qualifying group.

shows Huuhkajie’s qualifying games on its channels.

Scottish supremacy

After five matches played, Scotland lead Group A with a clean sheet, 12 goals scored and only one goal conceded. The superiority of the Scots has been experienced by, for example, Spain, who lost to Scotland in March with 0–2 goals. The Scottish keeper with the only goal in the group by Angus Gunn the Norwegian superstar has managed to hit behind the back Erling Haaland in June.

Scotland head coach Steve Clarke said during the September qualifying window that he doesn’t care who scores the team’s goals, as long as the team’s defensive attitude is in order.

– Tackles in the last minutes are really important for us, because we don’t concede goals, Clarke said after the victorious match against Cyprus in September.

The teams at the top of the group will play against each other once more, so Scotland can secure their direct place in the competition as early as next week.

Albania at the top of the flat E group

The only exception to the flat E group is the Faroe Islands, which is last in the group with one point. The other teams in the group, Albania, the Czech Republic, Moldova and Poland, are all within four points.

During the upcoming qualifying window, both Poland and the Czech Republic will face the Faroe Islands, the group’s automatic scorers. The teams will play crosswise in such a way that Albania will host the Czech Republic and Poland will host Moldova.

After the previous qualifying window, the place in Poland is no longer in the team’s own hands, and the chances are not improved by the fact that the team’s biggest star Robert Lewandowski is sidelined with an ankle injury.

Sweden’s non-existent seams for the Games

Currently, Sweden’s chances for the European Championships are less than one percent. Next Monday, the country will face Belgium, the top of the group.

The head coach of the team Jan Andersson has been in the eye of the storm during the qualifiers, but after the team’s recent performances, even the Swedish media has been kind to the head coach. However, the Swedish Football Association announced last weekthat head coach Andersson will step down if the team misses the games.

Andersson’s time as head coach of the Swedish national team is coming to an end, and the situation is not getting any easier for the Newcastle striker, who plays in the Swedish and English Premier League Alexander Isakin knee injury received at the weekend.

Below are also the situations of the other EC blocks. The two best countries in each group advance to the summer 2024 European Championship in Germany.
