That’s it, fourteen days after the start of the war in Ukraine, Sony Interactive Entertainment has finally taken a position on the conflict by announcing drastic measures. Like Microsoft and other publishers and other studios, the Japanese firm is suspending all sales of its games in Russia, of its hardware too, and is closing the PlayStation Store altogether in the country led by Vladimir Putin. It’s obviously a big decision for Sony Interactive Entertainment who are calling for peace in Ukraine and who had already shown signs of support by surreptitiously canceling the release of Gran Turismo 7 a few days ago. But that’s not all, in order to go further in this support, Sony Corporation also announces a donation of 2 million dollars to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and to the international NGO Save the Children, to support the victims of this tragedy. A gesture that will not leave anyone indifferent.
