At NATO’s air base in Keflavik, Iceland, several American P-8 Poseidon patrol planes are lined up. They are used for submarine hunting around Iceland and in Artkis. As the sea opens up, militarization from both the US, Russia and China increases. “Our job is to hunt submarines, that’s what we do,” says US Naval Surveillance Officer Charles Blackwell.
