Häcken is looking for gold in the women’s league and in the middle of the Champions League game.
Add to that that Elin Rubensson is one of Sweden’s best players in the national team right now.
Therefore, there were many question marks after the star injured himself in the CL meeting with Twente at home.
Just over two weeks until the Olympic qualifiers
The situation arose in the first half when Rubensson charged for a shot, slipped and then sat on the pitch. She was forced to stop the match, limp off the field and had her left thigh tightly wrapped.
– I got a sensation in the front at the moment of the shot, she says afterwards.
In twelve days, the national team gathers for the next match in the Nations League, which also serves as an Olympic qualifier. The meeting with Switzerland awaits on October 27.
The message from Rubensson is that she will have an X-ray on Thursday.
Are you worried?
– We haven’t had time to check it yet. But I feel that it is something. We have to wait for the x-ray, I don’t know much more yet.
Sandberg also wrapped: “Security reasons”
Häcken’s CL match against Twente, the first of two where a group stage place in the Champions League is at stake, ended in a 2-2 draw.
Even Anna Sandberg, who missed the national team meeting last time due to a calf injury, was replaced in the match and had a tightly wrapped leg afterwards.
But there was calmer news.
– It is for safety reasons since the injury, so hopefully there are no major concerns. I would be lying if I said that I am fully recovered, but I am at least so good that I can train fully and play matches, she says.
