Early on Thursday morning, a fire started in Snättringe in Huddinge south of Stockholm.
“It’s a villa or a semi-detached house that burned down. We judge the fire to be arson and have started a preliminary investigation into arson,” police spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl told TT just after four o’clock on Thursday morning.
An ambulance is said to have been at the scene of the fire, but the police have no information that anyone is injured.
On the night of Tuesday, there were seven arson attacks against villas and apartment buildings in the Stockholm area. Three people were arrested and the police are investigating connections to ongoing criminal conflicts.
According to Daniel Wikdahl, the fire in Snättringe may have links to gang conflicts.
“It cannot be ruled out that this incident has links to other crimes,” he says.
Earlier in the night there was an alarm about a fire in a shop in Vallentuna north of Stockholm. A fire had started outside and the fire spread into the shop. However, it was quickly extinguished by the emergency services.
According to Daniel Wikdahl, there is not yet enough information about that fire to determine whether it is connected to other acts of violence or conflicts.
