Those now eligible for vaccination shots can book an appointment at a Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit clinic by visiting https://hnhu.org/book-a-covid-19-vaccine-appointment/ . Appointments can also be made through local pharmacies.
The health unit is encouraging residents to get their flu and COVID-19 shots as soon as they are eligible to receive them.
Public health official recommends getting an updated COVID-19 vaccination six months after your latest dose or latest confirmed COVID-19 infection. It is safe to have the COVID-19 vaccine with this year’s influenza vaccine.
Both the XBB COVID-19 and influenza vaccines will be available to the general public following the roll out to high-risk populations, likely towards the end of October, public health officials say.
