The automotive industry’s drive towards sustainability continues to gain momentum, and Mercedes-Benz’s latest quarterly sales report is compelling evidence of this trend. Third quarter figures reveal an impressive 66% increase in Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) sales.
Mercedes-Benz Cars achieved a total of 510,600 sales in the 3rd quarter, a modest decrease of 4% compared to previous quarters. However, when focusing specifically on electric vehicle sales, a different narrative emerges.
In this quarter alone, Mercedes-Benz sold 61,600 BEVs, accounting for 12% of the company’s total sales. This strong growth in electric vehicle sales played an important role in mitigating the slowdown in overall sales.

Across the Atlantic, the United States witnessed a significant increase in BEV sales in Q3, more than doubling their numbers.
